Georgios
Machine Learning Engineer
Georgios received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2015). Throughout his studies, he joined Pro-Drone (Portugal) as an intern; a start-up building autonomous UAVs to inspect wind turbines. There, he was responsible for the perception of the UAV by integrating the camera with the autopilot and developing computer vision algorithms.
In 2016, he started working as a research assistant at Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH). His main duties were the development of computer vision algorithms for object detection and 3D reconstruction, their ROS integration in a dual-arm robotic manipulator and the development of a reinforcement learning agent to assist the grasping procedure.
From early 2019, he pursues his PhD at University of Stuttgart by combining his machine learning working experience with his academic background in power systems. His main interests include applying learning algorithms in dynamic systems and electricity markets.
